Please help prevent terrible consequences for wild horses and burros
In Congress’s current spending bill, on page 804, Section 116, the BLM would be enabled to remove federal protection of wild horses and burros under the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971. This provision must be stopped!!!! It calls for the immediate transfer to state and local governments of these wonderful national heritage animals to be used as “work animals”. It provides not definition of what this exactly means, not limit on numbers to be so transferred, and would result in many of these horses and burros going to slaughter through many devious ways.
