About Us
We are a small team of advocates dedicated to protecting wild horses and burros, based on an understanding of their history and important role in the ecosystem.
We have help from volunteers who support our main ecologist Craig Downer, the author of The Wild Horse Conspiracy.
Our wild horse advocacy is part of our broader effort that not only advocates for horses and burros in North America, but also for another truly fascinating animal, the Andean Tapir. This large animal lives in South America.
Officially, our organization is the Andean Tapir Fund and that is where donations go. It is registered as a 501(c)(3) and donations are tax-deductible. Even though the name may sound a little different, this organization is the one funding our efforts to protect horses and burros.
